The war between Google and Amazon finally spread to Fire TV.
Google stated in its statement: "We hope to reach cooperation with Amazon on products and services. However, Amazon refused to sell Google products like Chromecast and Google Home, refused to provide Prime Video for Google Cast users, and stopped selling some Nest products last month." Due to a lack of interaction, we no longer provide YouTube support for Echo Show and Fire TV. We hope to reach a consensus as soon as possible to resolve this issue."
Then Amazon announced the following statement through Variety: "Echo Show and Fire TV are now able to display the standard web page view of YouTube.com, and pointed out that consumers can directly access YouTube's existing websites. Google's behavior to prevent users from accessing open websites is disappointing. We hope to solve this problem with Google as soon as possible."
Google had previously decided to stop YouTube’s support for Fire TV and Fire TV Stick on January 1, 2018. Since the beginning of last Friday, some users have experienced failure to access. Google first restricted access to YouTube from the Amazon Echo Show in September 2017.
