According to reports, this "phosphorus battery" is made of red phosphorus nanoparticles mixed with iodine, weighing only 1/6 of the average battery, but the energy density has increased by 7 times!
The research team said that most of the current digital products are using lithium batteries, but the capacitance of the material used in the negative electrode of the battery has reached the limit. Many scientists have begun to try to replace the higher phosphorus, but because they are not conductive and charged. After the expansion and fragmentation, it is impossible to break through the boundary.
However, Duan Xingyu's team took more than a year to invent the solution synthesis method. Using phosphorus triiodide (PI3) as raw material, the iodine-doped red phosphorus nanoparticles were synthesized at room temperature for 5 minutes, and the conductivity was instantly increased to red. Phosphorus is 10 billion times, and it is stable and does not break after hundreds of charge and discharge cycles.
At the same time, this kind of phosphorus battery also takes into account the lightweight characteristics. At present, the weight of the graphite anode used in the iPhone battery is about 6 grams, while the phosphorus battery of the same capacity has less than 1 gram.
At present, the research results of Duan Xingyu's team have been published in the authoritative chemical journal C&EN news, which not only allows mobile phones to last longer, but also applies to micro smart wear or drones.
