At the beginning of 2014, MediaTek launched the MT6595 and MediaTek MT6752 processors, and MediaTek's good base friend Meizu also launched its own thousand yuan series charm blue. In the end, the MT6752 was mounted on the charm blue note, while the MT6595 was mounted on the flagship Meizu mx4.
Both processors, which are good at the end, can be fired, but this involves a memory bandwidth problem. Under the technology at that time, the memory bandwidth required by the 2K resolution under Meizu mx4 was undoubtedly an astronomical number, so the MT6595 died directly. The title of Wannian A53 was made by MediaTek in this era. In the same period, the Samsung 7420 and Qualcomm's "Fire Dragon" 810 both adopted this relatively powerful A57 architecture (the performance is about twice that of the A53). The Fire Dragon 810 died because of the process problems. Samsung's 7420 is a big fire, and its performance is almost Doubled x10.
Originally, the X10 was mounted on Meizu's mx5 (then sold at 1799). Finally, Xiaomi came out with a knife and placed it directly on his own red rice note2 (799 yuan). Why not use the A57? The x25 is a ten-core processor (two A72 big cores + eight A53 small cores). During the running process, the big core locks and the x25 becomes the X10. The big game is definitely hopeless.
Success or failure? - next year helio x30
First of all, let's talk about this x30. From the current news, the x30 is equipped with a 10nm process that will debut next year and the latest A73 architecture (up to 2.8Ghz).
Looking at it, these two points of data are really strong. 10nm is completely able to withstand the A73 architecture, and the A73 architecture itself is very strong. Ideally, the X30 is definitely a very strong soc. I don't know if I can compete with Qualcomm's flagship of Snapdragon next year.
But then again, even if the CPU can, the GPU is also a problem. The GPU used by MediaTek is the Mali series on the one hand and the pover series on the other. The pover series is an adreno series GPU that can do Qualcomm, but Mali is hard to say. This year's Mali G71 MP8 (that is, the GPU on the Kirin 960) is still not as good as Qualcomm's adreno530 (this year's Qualcomm flagship Snapdragon 820) ()), and there is no small gap.
