Rohde & Schwarz joins Vector and Commsignia to premiere the "end-to-end" test solution for car networking

The future intelligent transportation system will adopt the IEEE 802.11p wireless standard as the communication method of “vehicle-vehicle” and “vehicle-roadside” (V2I). Through these methods, accidents, construction, and sharing can be shared between vehicles and infrastructure. Information such as road conditions to improve driving safety and traffic efficiency. At the Global ITS Conference in Bordeaux, France, Rohde & Schwarz teamed up with Vector and Commsignia to demonstrate the end-to-end test solution for the Internet of Vehicles. In a simulated body environment, the onboard unit receives the real 802.11p signal and displays the results of the analysis on a center console screen.

Rohde & Schwarz's R&S TS-ITS100 fully automated RF compliance test system provides a complete test solution for "vehicle-vehicle" (V2V), "vehicle-roadside" communication. The system, combined with the CANoe automotive bus test software platform from Vector, monitors wireless communications and in-car bus communications and can even simulate some of them. Commsignia provided the DUT - ITS-OB2-M car 802.11p unit for this demonstration. The system can simulate a complete "end-to-end" test link that can generate real RF signals and pass through the simulated channel environment to receive and display on the center console screen. The entire system helps OEMs and zeros. The component supplier verifies the functionality and performance of the product.

In the demonstration, the R&S TS-ITS100 generates an alarm signal of “Attention, the front vehicle emergency brake”, and transmits it through the 802.11p network, and through the channel simulator, scrambles, fades, and distorts the ideal signal to simulate the real scene. The ITS-OB2-M onboard unit provided by Commsignia receives the signal and converts the message into a CAN bus format and sends it to the vehicle bus. At the same time, the CANoe system monitors the vehicle bus and displays this message. On a simulated central control screen.

At the 2015 ITS World Congress in Bordeaux, France, October 5-9, 2015, Rohde & Schwarz completed the test program.

Through-wall Terminal

The through-wall terminals can be installed side by side on panels with thicknesses ranging from 1mm to 10mm, and can automatically compensate and adjust the thickness of the panel to form a terminal block with any number of poles. In addition, isolation plates can be used to increase air gaps and creepage distances.
