The BenQ Group has long been planning to enter the LED lighting market. It initially plans to launch its own branded LED products by the end of this year, but recent news from BenQ has delayed this plan to the first half of next year.
According to the original expectations of the BenQ Group, they plan to let their Ronda Electronics establish their own LED lighting brands and develop LED bulbs, lamps and other products, but because Ronda Electronics owns a foundry customer like Philips, in order not to conflict with it, BenQ Group is still planning to let BenQ develop its own LED lighting brand.
Christie is also actively developing high-end LED lighting products and has entered the European high-end lighting product supply chain. The BenQ Group believes that Christie's design center will strongly support BenQ's lighting product development.
In addition to BenQ Group, Chi Mei is also exploring the lighting market. Its subsidiaries have the strength to develop and mass produce LED lighting, and focus on the Taiwan market.
