Chinese market digests 50% of AMD Llano APU shipments

According to Taiwan’s “Electronic Times” report, news from motherboard makers stated that the demand for AMD Llano’s core APU processors in the Chinese mainland market is very strong. In August, Llano’s shipments in the mainland market accounted for one-third of the global total. The figure rose to 50% in September, making AMD more focused on the mainland market.

Due to the immaturity of the GlobalFoundries 32nm process, Llano processor production capacity has been insufficient, while the Chinese market demand for Llano is much larger than Europe and the United States. Sources said that in the future, AMD may consider deploying more sources of supply to meet the needs of the Chinese market.

Sources also pointed out that due to strong demand from Llano, AMD is already considering moving its processor orders to TSMC. The Llano processors shipped by AMD in the fourth quarter include A8-3850, A8-3800, A6-3650, A6-3600, A6-3500, A4-3400, and A4-3300, and the total quantity will reach 360-3.8 million. , an increase of 10% over the previous quarter. AMD will soon release new A8-3820, A6-3620 and A4-3420 to meet the needs of different consumers.
