According to a recent hardware/software report from well-known gaming platform Steam, the use of quad-core CPUs in the player community is already close to dual-core and is expected to surpass the latter in the near future.
According to the November survey report, although the dual-core CPU still ranks first, its share has dropped to 46.49%, which is a drop of 2% from 48.71% in June. As a comparison, the quad-core CPU's share increased from 41.37% to 45.02% over the same time period. The rest of the core number of CPUs is basically in soy sauce status, with 5.52% for single-core processors, 1.47% for six cores, and 1.39% for triple cores. Less common eight cores, five cores, and 12 cores are all less than 0.1%.
In terms of camp, Intel still occupies an overwhelming advantage, but it has less advantage than the entire processor market. The Intel processor's Steam share in November was 73.90%, up 0.96% from June; the same period of time, AMD's share fell from 27.28% to 26.10%.
In terms of frequency, the players in the Intel camp occupy the main position of the 2.3-2.7GHz processor, with a share of 29.61%. In addition, the share of the 2.7-3.0GHz processor is also 13.46%. AMD is relatively average, with the largest number of processors being 3.0-3.3 GHz, followed by 2.3-2.7 GHz.
