Next year's development of the semiconductor industry is promising

Recently, iSuppli has released a global semiconductor research report, which has estimated the global semiconductor industry this year.

According to iSuppli's expectations, this year's global semiconductor output value is expected to increase by nearly 5% to $317.9 billion. Under this breakdown, the dynamic random access memory (DRAM) market is expected to grow by 35% this year, and the NAND Flash market will grow by 27.7%.

At the same time, the Semiconductor Equipment and Materials Association (SEMI) also announced its latest forecast recently, saying that sales of global semiconductor equipment will shrink by 13.3% this year to 32 billion US dollars.

SEMI stated that South Korea, Taiwan and North America are still the largest consumer regions. In 2013, Taiwan's equipment sales will reach 10.2 billion U.S. dollars, North American sales will total 5.7 billion U.S. dollars, and South Korea sales will be 5.5 billion U.S. dollars.

The areas where equipment spending experienced a sharp drop in 2013 include South Korea, North America, and Europe. The equipment market in other parts of the world, mainly in Southeast Asia, is expected to grow by 3.2%.

SEMI expects that in addition to the rest of the world in 2014, all regions are expected to have strong growth, and the global growth rate of equipment sales will reach 23.2%. The sales will grow further in 2015, and will increase by 2.4% year-on-year as Japan, Europe, South Korea, China and other parts of the world continue to climb.
