   When talking about the concept of the plant factory, the project leader and researcher Yang Qichang of the Institute of Environmental Science and Technology of China Academy of Agricultural Sciences said that the plant factory is a system equipment for providing plants with suitable growth environment, using energy-saving plant growth lamps and LEDs as artificial light sources, using refrigeration. - Heating two-way temperature control and humidity control, light-carbon dioxide coupling photosynthetic and gas fertilizer regulation, nutrient solution online detection and control, 13 interrelated control subsystems, real-time temperature, humidity, light, airflow, carbon dioxide in plant factories Environmental factors such as concentration and nutrient solution are automatically monitored to achieve intelligent management. Through the high-precision control of the environment inside the factory, the growth of plants is almost unrestricted by natural conditions and the growth cycle is accelerated.
   According to Cheng Ruifeng of the Institute of Agricultural Environment and Sustainable Development of the Chinese Academy of Agricultural Sciences, the roots of plants in the factory are not grown in the soil, but are completely immersed in the nutrient solution. At the same time, the growth of plants "is completely free of sunlight." On each of the cultivation racks, a light board is installed. The difference is that the left side is the LED light and the right side is the fluorescent light. Cheng Ruifeng said that both lights can meet the needs of plant growth, but LEDs are more energy efficient than fluorescent lamps. The LED light board is mainly red light, and the blue light is evenly distributed at a certain distance in the middle, and the ratio is about 8:1 to 9:1. Yang Qichang said that sunlight is a full-band for plants, including red, blue, ultraviolet, and infrared. But experiments have shown that the light bands absorbed by plants are mainly red and blue, with a ratio of more than 60%. Therefore, red light and blue light can be made into a light source according to a certain ratio, which can meet the plant growth demand without affecting the plant quality.
