Although TSMC announced that the number of 28nm process flow chip samples has exceeded 40nm more than twice the same period, the yield rate is also higher. However, video card makers are still worried that TSMC will repeat its 40nm process yield tragedy, making the company's gross profit margin much lower than expected.
At present, some high-end discrete graphics cards are already in weak demand, while the low-end entry-level graphics cards have received Intel's CPU compression with AMD's integrated graphics core. The industry believes that the demand for discrete graphics cards will further weaken.
TSMC has already announced the official mass production of the 28nm process. It is expected that the next generation of NVIDIA/AMD graphics cards will be officially released in the first quarter of next year.
