iPhone, Android, and Windows are well-known operating systems. Nokia is working hard to promote its Trolltech Qt environment for all its MeeGo and Symbian products. Although I'm not sure whether this is better, it has indeed been an important advancement in the industry, from the development of proprietary and closed platforms for mobile phone OEMs to the coexistence of multiple platforms today. However, I think there are still too many platforms and different application frameworks.

This means that when an application developer wants to make his product available on the main smartphone platform, the vast majority of applications must be rewritten. In many cases, often the time for the same application to be put on each platform will be very different, so that reprogramming will continue to occur; in this case program developers and consumers are losers.

For example, you are using a smart phone made by a w manufacturer, equipped with an x ​​operating system, and your friend uses a smart phone manufactured by a y-manufacturer and equipped with a z operating system. When your friends show off to you an application that you just purchased from y company's online software app store, you may find it in your own app store but you cannot find it; because application developers give priority to y customers The version of OS z is applicable, which ultimately disappoints the users of smartphones and causes the sales loss of the augmented reality application developers.

I do not mean that all smart phones should use the same operating system and application framework; on the contrary, the competition will be better, but there are too many options for consumers and application developers to pay the price at the same time. I believe that the industry will further integrate and allow a few platforms to survive, but the platforms will fight against each other and consumers and developers will also experience more pain.
