Integrated 10GBASE-KR with support for non-transparent bridgesIn response to networked market demands, the SOM-5992 integrates two 10GBASE-KR interfaces to meet the growing server application needs in the COM Express space. Users can design 10GbE carrier boards using the 10GBASE-KR interface that comes with the SOM-5992.
In addition, the PCIe x16 and eight PCIe x1s also support non-transparent bridges (NTB) for redundancy support via PCIe. This technology reduces data loss and allows the standby system to take over PCIe storage in the event of a CPU failure to provide high availability for ongoing service applications.
