Igniter identification method

1. When plugging the igniter wiring, do not connect the power cord (the charging end of the AC igniter), or unplug the high-voltage output head of the magneto beforehand. After determining that the ground wire of the igniter is well connected to the ground wire of the vehicle circuit, the high voltage cap is pulled out from the spark plug, and a backup spark plug is inserted on the vehicle body. Finally, the DC circuit on the motorcycle (the live wire is connected to the battery + pole) is connected to the charging end of the igniter.
2. After connecting the igniter to the circuit as described above, turn the magnetic motor to make the trigger sensor send the ignition signal to the igniter to see if the spark plug is firing. If the spark plug is ignited, this is the DC igniter. (The charging terminal of the AC igniter usually accepts hundreds of volts and is indifferent to the 12V of the battery.) If you do not make a fire for a while, carefully check the cause carefully, or use the meter measurement method to determine the nature of the igniter. It is judged as an AC igniter.
3. The safer method is to use the low-voltage power supply to do repeated tests on the igniter. It is determined that the DC igniter is not using low-voltage power, and it can be judged as the AC igniter. Conditional riders can use a low-current high-voltage power supply. If the DC igniter is used, it can also be used because the current is small = the voltage is reduced without damaging the igniter. However, the high current of the small current will still charge the AC igniter, so be careful to discharge the hand during the test.
4. For special cases, for example, the inductor high voltage package is not suitable for the CDI igniter; some are the igniter with the igniter and the high pressure package, such as the XH90 four-integrated igniter. There is also a self-triggered two-stroke AC igniter that uses a magneto-electric high-voltage power supply to charge forward/reverse-trigger discharge.
