Since its debut at Oculus Connect 3 in October of last year, Epic Games' "Robo Recall" has become one of the most anticipated virtual reality games. Today, the full version of "Robo Recall" is finally on the line with the Oculus Rift, which supports Touch. Users can now download this Rift exclusive game for free via Oculus Home.
In addition to a full-featured gaming experience, Epic Games also offers mod support. Robo Recall will be compatible with user-generated content by distributing non-commercial versions of the Robo Recall Mod Kit, which contains the full game source code. Users can download mod kit through UnrealEngine official website, similar to ARK Mod Kit and NVIDIA VR Funhouse Mod Kit.
Epic Games said: "The mod toolkit will provide examples and links to tutorials to show you how to create new guns, new enemies, and new maps. Modular producers will be able to package their mods into .robo files, Share via hyperlinks (such as forum support file attachments, Dropbox, or file sharing)."
Users downloading the Robo Recall Mod Kit will be able to access the original assets and complete source code of the Robo Recall development team to expand and build or re-create. They can make new versions for all other enemies, guns, or checkpoints of Robo Recall. In addition, users can load all combinations of mods at any time.
As an example, Epic Games also released a self-created internal mod package, including the Fortnite Weapons Pack weapon package. Robo Recall is now online with Oculus Home.
