Sony has launched two new notebooks in the Taiwan market: the Z series and the Y series, the Z series for the high-end business market segment, and the Y series for the ultra-thin market segment.
The Z Series consists of three models, the Z115, Z116 and Z117, and the Z117 is 13.3 inches. It has a 256GB “quad SSD†top-of-the-line configuration with a suggested retail price of NT$84,800 (approximately US$2,654). The Z series notebook computer is a Japanese original authentic.
According to news from the Sony Taiwan market, Sony's first ultra-thin Y-series notebooks use the Intel Core 2 Duo SU7300 processor, and the retail price of the mass market is less than NT$30,000.
In 2010, Sony's goal was to capture 10% of total notebook sales in the Taiwan market, up from 6-7% in 2009. Wistron is the maker of Sony's ultra-thin notebooks.
