The electromagnetic flowmeter consists of two parts: an electromagnetic flow sensor and an electromagnetic flow converter. The main components are measuring tubes, electrodes, excitation coils, cores and yokes, and housings. The measuring tube of the sensor is a non-magnetic alloy short tube lined with insulating material. The fluid to be measured must be a conductive liquid or slurry. The fluid to be measured of the electromagnetic flowmeter should not contain more ferromagnetic substances or bubbles. It should be selected according to the temperature, pressure, corrosivity and wear of the fluid to be measured. The pressure grade, lining material, electrode material and instrument structure are widely used in petroleum, chemical, metallurgy, textile, food, pharmaceutical, paper and other industries as well as environmental protection, municipal management, water conservancy construction and other fields.
The diameter, flow range, lining material, electrode material and output current of the large-diameter electromagnetic flowmeter should be determined according to the physical and chemical properties of the fluid medium to be tested.
1. The fluid for measuring the flow rate must be electrically conductive. Strictly speaking, as long as any fluid with a conductivity greater than 5 μ/cm is selected as the high-temperature fluid, the corresponding large-caliber electromagnetic flowmeter is used to measure the flow rate, so the non-conductive gas, Steam, oil, acetone and other materials cannot be used to measure flow rate with a large diameter electromagnetic flowmeter.
2. Determination of sensor diameter The flow rate of the flowmeter should be in the range of 0.3-15m/s. When the flow rate is lower than 0.3m/s, the flow rate is locally increased in the instrument part, and the shrinkage method is adopted.
3, integrated or separate type of integrated type: in the case of better site environment, generally choose the integrated type, that is, the sensor and converter are assembled into one.
Separate type: The sensor and the converter are installed separately in different places, and the separation type is generally selected when the following conditions occur.
(1) The ambient temperature or the flowmeter surface of the flowmeter is exposed to a temperature exceeding 60oC.
(2) Where the pipe vibration is large.
(3) Where the aluminum casing of the sensor is seriously corroded.
(4) Where the site temperature is high or there is corrosive gas.
(5) The flowmeter is installed in an occasion where it is inconvenient to debug at high altitude or below.
