Join forces! Autodesk Forge will be in Viveport

Yesterday, Autodesk CTO Jeff Kowalski announced at the 2016 Autodesk University conference in Las Vegas, USA that Autodesk's cloud development platform Forge will be in Viveport, which means content creators will be able to use htc vive in virtual reality. Use Forge for product design or architectural design related projects.

Autodesk has been a global leader in 2D and 3D design, engineering and entertainment software, creating a wide range of industry-leading professional software, including 3D modeling software, rendering software, etc. Some of their services are already supported in VR environments. But obviously Autodesk is not willing to stop there. This time their cloud development platform Forge will log in to HTC Vive through the Viveport platform.

In a keynote speech at the conference, Jeff Kowalski talked about the importance of VR to the company. "When you're in the VR world, the data becomes more like, and Autodesk's ultimate goal is to actually design in a virtual reality environment. We're building tools that let you model and simulate VR from scratch."

At present, Autodesk has not announced the specific date of the cloud development platform Forge entering Viveport, but its price may continue the previous model: free trial in December, but the cloud data storage space is limited, and the official version of $500/month (about RMB 3,439 yuan). As for whether Forge will have no clear news on the Rift, it is temporarily exclusive to Vive.
